Derek Rehmond Lane, Jr was born on July 21st, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV to Derek Lane, Sr. and Carmen Lopez ready to take the world by storm! Affectionately called DJ, he was loved by many and known for his sweetness, sense of humor, charisma, and great smile. As he grew into adulthood, he was able to give the love he received to his own girls, Destiny and Chanel, and experienced the joy of being their father. On January 22, 2021 Derek R. Lane Jr.,transitioned from this life into the next, leaving this world behind and all who love and were loved by him. Preceding him in death were two grandfathers Francisco Lopez-Cotto and Jim Bates, one grandmother Jesse Bates, and two uncles Frank Lopez, Jr and David Lane. DJ is survived by his daughters, Destiny and Chanel Lane, his mother Carmen Lopez-Figueroa, his father Derek Lane, Sr., his step-father Jorge Figueroa, his grandmother Anatolia Velez-Lopez, his sisters Marcia Lane-McGee, Divinity (Timothy, Sr.) Lane-Trujillo, and Serenity Figueroa; his aunt Tanya Lane and cousin Jessica Ford, uncle James Moore, uncle Alfred Lopez, nephews Timothy Trujillo, Jr and Dylan Pace, and mother to his children Michelle Lewis. He also leaves behind a host of friends and family who miss him dearly.
