Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Willie G. Noble Brave, Warm Hearted, Self-disciplined, Modest, and Courageous Willie G. Noble was born to proud parents Annie and Green Noble on January 15, 1917 in Sunnyvale, Mississippi and was raised in Amory, Mississippi. He was the oldest of four siblings, sisters Marie Moore, Cecilia (Cetabel) Jefferson and one brother Murdophus Noble. All have preceded him in death. It was in his hometown of Amory, Mississippi where he met and married Lillian Jackson. Together they shared a loving relationship based on deep friendship and respect. They were united in Holy Matrimony on June 11, 1940. To this loving union, seven children were born. His wife and one son, Dennis preceded him in death. Willie G. confessed his faith and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Willie G is remembered as a family man and loved spending time with them. He had a commitment to his family, supporting them in all their endeavors. Willie G was educated in Monroe County where he graduated from Monroe County Training High School and subsequently attended annual class reunions until 2012. Willie G. served in the military during World War II in New Guinea. Throughout his military career, he participated in various activities including the Army Boxing and Football Team. Willie G. lived in the Englewood neighborhood for over 70 years. He was lovingly called “Granddad” by many who knew him. He was a hard worker and often held two jobs simultaneously. He worked at Swift Packing followed by a career at the U.S. Post Office for 43 years. It was there that he played on the Postal Service baseball team until his retirement at age 67. He and his wife ran a Ma & Pa grocery store at 5959 S. Morgan for 10 years. On Saturday June 21, 2014 Willie G. Noble made his earthly transition to his heavenly Father and from labor to reward. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life; seven children: Raymond Sr. (Donna), Ralph (Debra), Dennis (Brenda), Kenneth, Gary (Carolyn), Gwen and Roy; fifteen grandchildren: Raymond, Jr., Nicole, Rachel, Evelyn, Dennis, Jr., Brendan, Bryce, Brashawn, Kenny, Kareen, Gene, Jamaal, Nora, Daquane, and Kemari; twelve great-grandchildren: DeMonica, Tydarious, Nyla, Kanye, Romeo, Kayceah, Kemaria, Kareen (Lil Willie), Camryn, Jakira, Joshua, and Josiah; and a host of nieces and nephews.
