Melvin Hall Sr

Celebrating life and legacy. Melvin was born on July 31,1959 in Chicago to Mary Hall and Gene Chandler, who raised him with love, strength and unwavering support. He was brought up in the Kingdom Hall, where he developed a strong spiritual foundation that remained with him throughout his life. From a young age, he displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart and a natural ability to bring joy to those around Him. Whether it was his infectious laughter, his caring nature, or his ability to turn any moment into laughter, he was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He attended Englewood High School where he excelled academically and built lifelong friendships. Melvin was a hardworking and ambitious individual; he pursued a career in construction where his dedication and passion left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. He was deeply committed to his work and always strived to make a difference and leave a positive mark on the world. Beyond his professional achievements, Melvin was a man of many passions, he found joy in spending his time with his family and friends. No matter what, he embraced every experience with enthusiasm and love. He cherished his relationships and was a source of strength, laughter and support to those who needed him. The Love he had for his wife Carla was immeasurable. Melvin is survived by his sisters Lisa, Janalynne, Caroline and Raivenn. His wife Carla, Children Eugene, Lawanda, Latisha (Brian) and Melvin Jr (Lydia) 14 grandchildren, and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death is was mother Mary Lee, stepfather Emmett Lee, his sisters Cynthia Ates, Lucille Walker, and brother Derrick Ates. His grandmother Leola Fulford, his nephew Keane Ates and his granddaughter Ariel Butler. Family and Friends Tribute To Melvin from Your Sisters You never said I’m leaving; you never said goodbye; you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why. In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still, in my heart I hold a place that only you can fill. It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, a part of me went with you, the day God took you home. To Melvin from your Children In our hearts we thought of you today, but that is nothing new we thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence and often speak your names, now all we have are memories and pictures in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, of which we’ll never part, God has you in his keeping, we have you in our heart. To Melvin from Carla The moment that you left me, my heart was split in two, one side was filled with memories; The other side died with you. I often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep; and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek. Remembering you is easy, I do it every day; but missing you is a heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain; you see life has gone on without you but will never be the same.
